MGO® Manukahonung 100+ contains 100% Leptospermum Scoparium Manukahonung from New Zealand. Manukahonung comes from some of New Zealand's most remote places and is the result of a unique interaction between bees and myrtle plants Leptospermum Scoparium (Manuka). Manukahonung is known for its unique taste and is recognized worldwide for its unique antibacterial properties, which are not found in other honey varieties. The unique thing about Manukahonung is that it contains the bioactive substance Methylglyoxal (MGO). It is an antibacterial component that prevents bacteria from sticking to human cells. Research has determined that Manukahonung protects against about 80 different types of bacteria. Our Manukahonung is labeled with the content of Methylglyoxal. MGO 100+ contains at least 100mg / kg of Methylglyoxal. The content of Methylglyoxal has been tested in an independent British laboratory according to ISO 17025 standard, which guarantees the quality of honey. Manukahonung can be taken as part of a balanced diet or as a natural sweetener in food and hot drinks. The higher the value of Manukahonung on the MGO / UMF scale, the greater the honey's antibacterial effect. On a UMF scale, MGO 100+ corresponds to a value of 6.
